BUILD UPDATE - FRIDAY MAY 17
Good morning! I was waiting to send out this update until I could see what the weather was going to do. I still don't know. It's been bouncing back and forth all week. So at this point, we will plan on a Saturday build and go from there. If it does rain, we will postpone until next weekend. We had a good start last weekend. Although it was very hot on Saturday and windy on Sunday, it was a fun and progressive weekend. The pony walls were raised and the floor trusses were begun to be installed. Robbie was initiated to the build process and knows how to swing a hammer! Not many people get to see and participate in building their own home from the ground up. I hope she has a good week to rest and get the feeling back into her arms. As Karen Carpenter says, " we've only just begun". We will continue to frame, build the bearing walls, and install the rest of the floor trusses. We will then install the floor sheeting and get ready for the first floor walls. Weather permitting, see you Saturday. Bill Fox Operations Manager |

Habitat for Humanity is on FaceBook! 'Like' us to stay informed on the progress of this years build. |
Habitat is a non-profit, humanitarian, faith-based organization focussing on principles of caring and giving, whose mandate is to eliminate sub-standard housing world-wide with non-discriminatory policies. Habitat invites applications from low-income families from any ethnic, social, or religious background.
What is Habitat for Humanity? We believe decent housing saves lives. It's a foundation where families become healthier, where kids leave for school in the morning and do their homework at night, where parents rest from one day and plan for the next. In decent housing, walls are strong and roofs are secure - and the family inside focuses more on thriving than surviving.
